This role is subject to -

  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). The main duty of this role is to provide a Reception Service at Etrop Court which has over 500 Manchester City Council and NHS staff, dealing with various queries efficiently and courteously with tact and diplomacy.  You will need personal resilience and initiative to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate within agreed timescales and procedures. 

This role will also include general administrative and financial tasks to support Adult Social Care Services, you will deal with enquiries both written and verbal, from a wide range of internal and external customers, completing all documentation and correspondence accurately and to a high standard.  Attention to detail is key, you must be able to prioritise your work, manage your time and be able to adhere to deadlines and follow procedures. You will be required to enter and retrieve confidential information into our internal ICT systems. Excellent keyboard skills and a knowledge of various IT systems are essential.

About the Candidate

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and keen to learn. You will need excellent customer service skills and will need to be confident speaking to citizens both in person and on the telephone.  You will need to possess excellent keyboard skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.   You will need to be a team player and will need to be able to prioritise your own workload and work to deadlines.  You must be able to use your own initiative.
