This role is subject to -

  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Reform and Innovation service as a Project Officer. There are two positions and they are both time limited roles until March 2025, but may have the option to make permanent beyond this date.

 

As part of Policy, Performance and Reform within the Chief Executive’s Directorate, we are at the heart of the Council's approach to public service reform and subsequent organisational change. We drive forward the pace and scale of reform both within the Council and with partners across the city, developing new ways of working and designing innovative service models. We also have oversight of the strategic direction and delivery of our Corporate Planning and Governance work programmes, ensuring the council is delivering the priorities set out in the Our Manchester Strategy.

About the Candidate

Within this role you will be expected to support the delivery and development of Manchester City Councils Multi-Agency Prevention and Support Meetings (MAPS).   

 

The Project officer will play a vital role in ensuring that the council is able to facilitate Public Service Reform (PSR) and ensuring that the organisation is able to meet it is Our Manchester values and objectivesThe role holder will need to be well organised with a knowledge of project management approaches and methodology with the ability to plan and manage competing priorities.

 

You will have a range of skills including:

  • Numeracy and accuracy skills to collate information and keep accurate and reliable records.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to organize multiple tasks and allocate time and energy according to task complexity and priority.
  • Basic understanding of project management with the capability to hold and update the project plan.
  • Ability to communicate and understand the views of others and communicates in a realistic and practical manner.
  • Analytical approach to identifying information needs with a range of stakeholders and develop innovative ways to go about obtaining the relevant information.
