We are excited to be recruiting for a Business Support Lead/PA to the Director of Public Health.  This role will support the Director in delivering the Department of Public Health’s mission to improve health outcomes for the people of Manchester.

The Department is based at Manchester City Council in the Town Hall Extension and works closely with the NHS as part of Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.  

The department covers 5 areas of responsibility: 
  • Healthy Environments and Health Protection
  • Health Improvement and Health Creation
  • Healthcare Public Health and Prevention
  • Integrated Equality, Inclusion and Engagement
  • Population Health Integration and Systems Development
  • Core functions include a specialist Knowledge and Intelligence team, contracts, project management and business support.

About the Candidate

The role holder will provide dedicated support arrangements for the Director of Public Health (DPH) and a high-quality service which delivers all aspects of operational, administrative and finance support to the department. 

 

We are looking for a candidate who is:  
  • A highly skilled and experienced administrator who is flexible and resilient
  • An excellent communicator who can work with tact and diplomacy in a politically sensitive environment
  • Confident in planning, multitasking, taking initiative in problem solving and delivering to tight deadlines 
  • Interested in working for Public Health in Manchester
