About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, split shift 7am to 10am and 2.15pm to 6.15pm, all year round, 25 days’ holiday)
Number of positions: 1
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum

  • Is practical, with a hands-on approach to site maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Has knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Is flexible and proactive, with good problem-solving skills.
  • Is a team player who values working collaboratively to support the school's needs.
  • Has knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.

About the Candidate

As Caretaker, you will work closely with the Business Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the school premises.

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, security, and overall condition of the school site.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Site maintenance and repairs, including regular site inspections.
  • Health and safety compliance, adhering to health and safety guidelines and maintaining accurate records.
  • Security, opening and closing the school site, monitoring access and respond to any emergencies (out of hours and weekend work in exceptional circumstances).
  • Being available for work out of hours.
  • Porterage and cleaning, assisting with furniture moves, room setups for events, and cleaning, as well as supervising the cleaning team.
  • Seasonal tasks, including clearing leaves, snow and ice to ensure safe walkways and carrying out premises and grounds checks.
