Salary: Grade 5 £26,873 - £29,777 pro rata TTO

We are looking for an outstanding professional who can work well as part of a team and is willing and able to work flexibly as required.

We are looking for someone to:
  • Work with a children both in a classroom and on a 1:1 basis under the supervision of the class teacher implementing actions in Learning Support Plans and ensuring EHCP outcomes are achieved.
  • Supervise and provide support to ensure the safety of pupils and enable them to access all areas of the curriculum.
  • ·    Attend to the personal needs of SEND children, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene and welfare.
  • ·    Establish good relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • ·     Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • ·     Encourage pupils to act independently where appropriate.
  • ·     Be a team player with the ability to further develop our strong school ethos
  • ·     Have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

In addition you must:

  • ·     Be committed to the education and social well-being of every child in the school
  • ·     Continue to build and maintain effective relationships with the school and its’ community and partners
  • ·     Be happy, enthusiastic, and friendly.

About the Candidate

The Governors and the Headteacher of Bridgelea Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and motivated L3 Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and learning within the school.

Teaching Assistants may be required to work at various locations across Manchester.

The successful candidate will work closely with other teachers in the school, under the line management of Headteacher and Assistant Headteachers.

You will:

  • Be a qualified level 3 TA with a very good understanding of behaviour management and how children learn.
  • Contribute to the hardworking, dedicated and caring ethos of the school and build positive relations with children, colleagues, parents and governors.

Bridgelea Primary School is a school for pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 offering specialist places for children with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) identifying Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH).
 
Bridgelea also offers places for Manchester’s children who are at risk of being excluded (APX) or who have been permanently excluded (PEX) by providing the day education offer. We currently have thirteen classes, across two sites.
 
Classes can vary in size depending on the complexity of the need and can range in size between six and ten pupils. All classes are taught by a qualified teacher and are supported by at least two teaching assistants.
