We are looking for Supervising Social Workers to join our Fostering Service specific within the Recruitment and Assessment Team. We are aiming to recruit exceptional Social Workers who can champion and support our recruitment campaign here in Manchester and across GM with the ongoing recruitment campaign we have in operation of 'Fostering Unfiltered' in partnership with GMCA and across 10 Greater Manchester Authorities. This role is integral to supporting the ongoing campaign and assisting with recruitment and retention of Foster Carers in Manchester.

About the Candidate

Manchester City Council are looking to recruit exceptional committed and motivated social workers to join our fostering service. Specifically, there are two positions available within our Assessing role for foster carers to support our children with Manchester.

As an assessing social worker, you will be required to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s services and good knowledge of Fostering Minimum standards and The Fostering Regulation Services (England) 2011. Be able to provide a high level of support and challenge to foster carers to achieve positive outcomes permanence and stability, a good understanding of trauma informed practice and be able to develop and support foster carers to provide a secure base for cared for children. This is a unique opportunity as an assessing social worker in the fostering service, where you will assess general foster carers, conduct initial home visits, support recruitment and engagement events alongside the recruitment officer and undertaken Form F assessments using BAAF Form F assessment tool alongside our secure base practice model.

This rewarding role will be helping to make sure our children and young people experience foster families who are best placed to meet their care needs and with families who share Manchester's commitment to finding a loving foster family for every child who needs one.
