This role is subject to -

Qualification - A relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent and/or appropriate experience of contract management

Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.

 

Manage Street Lighting contracts relating to the procurement and delivery of public lighting maintenance repairs and new installation.

Key duties will include:

  • Manage the quality and performance of contractors
  • Business case checkpoint & Contract approvals
  • Value for Money, solutions and innovation managing a street lighting highway maintenance contract
  • Liaise with Stakeholders, Councillors and where necessary prioritise packages of work
  • Manage Performance
  • Ensure all works are co-ordinated appropriately
  • Responsible for the management of the Street Lighting PFI Contract
  • Performance reporting and quality checks
  • Agree any new installations
  • Commuted sums
  • Management of the LED contract.
  • Technical Reference for all street lighting
  • Management and maintenance of non-PFI related street and sign lighting
  • Management of the PFI lighting budget
  • Technical checks of any new installations.
  • Manage the Street Lighting Engineer

About the Candidate

You’ll be able to show that you have significant knowledge and experience of undertaking a similar position within the industry, gained within either a Local Authority, Consultancy, or the Private sector.

A relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent and/or appropriate experience of contract management in this field.

You will be able to contribute to service delivery and manage your own workload without day-to-day supervision, across all types of projects, from small to complex commercial schemes whilst managing the Team and the supply chain partners.
