About The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEN for work experience to join an outstanding school and college dedicated to supporting young people with special educational needs.

 

The role is to act as a job coach to support students to develop transferable employability and life skills, through work experience placements and learning activities, both onsite and in the community.

You will:

  • Work closely with a passionate team and a network of local employers to ensure students achieve their full potential.
  • Be required to accompany and support students to develop their skills at a variety of work experience placements.
  • Work alongside them in businesses such as warehouses, shops, farms and cafes in the local community.
The role also requires the successful candidate to support students develop life skills through escorting them in using public transport to attend work placements.
 

This role will be involved in the establishment and delivery of this venture. To support this, experience of working in customer facing roles as well as an educational setting is desirable.

 

Main purpose of the job:

  • To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities to identified groups of students. The post holder will provide support to curriculum development in specialised areas.

The successful applicant must be able to work effectively with the whole school community including pupils, parents, governors, and staff.
