We currently have an exciting opportunity for Catering Assistant to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)

Working hours will be Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

We’re looking for:

  • A reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Someone who will be comfortable working around children and able to work well as part of a team. A flexible approach is essential, as the role will involve a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and assisting with stock and deliveries.

Main purpose of the job:

You will supervise and support student(s) in the dining areas and elsewhere as required to provide high quality support over lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being and assist with feeding and other personal care needs, as required.

About the Candidate

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Support the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Assist with general kitchen duties, including food prep and washing up
  • Ensure meals are served efficiently and on time
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for pupils during meal times
  • Follow food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times
  • Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the catering supervisor or cook
