We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher to join our fantastic team at Pioneer House High School
This is a permanent, full time role. This role also attracts a salary on the Leadership Scale, points L4-L8 with a value of £53,602 - £59,167.

We are eager to further strengthen both our leadership team and our teaching team by welcoming an outstanding teaching practitioner as an Assistant Head Teacher, who is dedicated to delivering high-quality education and ensuring our pupils achieve their best possible outcomes in our rapidly improving school.
You will need to be an experience and fully qualified teaching professional and possess a robust and practical knowledge of diverse teaching strategies tailored for pupils with SEND.
With a full understanding of the National Curriculum and be able to adapt it for SEND pupils and have the expertise and motivation to lead a subject throughout the school.
You will also need to exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding classroom practice, showcasing creativity, initiative, and excellent organizational skills and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development
Main purpose of the job:
This role will initially include a sizable teaching commitment to support the development of the teaching team through the Expert Teaching Framework across school.
In addition to those professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers in the school, the post holder’s key responsibilities will also include:
- To be a proactive member of the Senior Leadership Team and support the Headteacher to secure the best educational provision and the highest possible outcomes for students.
- To support the Headteacher in all aspects of school improvement, playing a strategic role in raising the standards of teaching, learning and student achievement together with the standards of attendance, behaviour and appearance of all students.
- To take full responsibility for leading and managing significant aspects of the school under the overall direction of the Headteacher.
- Utilise rigorous assessment systems and use data effectively to enhance pupil progress and uphold the highest standards
- To work with the Headteacher, governors, trustees and the wider school community to effectively establish, develop and sustain the school’s ethos and strategic direction
- To uphold ambitious educational standards for all students, so that they are well prepared for their next phase of education and life
- To support a shared collective vision across the school enthusing, inspiring and motivating the whole school community so that all students experience a positive and enriching school life
