Due to our new school opening we have new and exciting Teacher (SEN) opportunities to join our fantastic team at Orchard House High School

We are seeking three Teachers (SEN) for our brand-new Orchard House High school to start in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a Special Educational Needs School, supporting our pupils and colleagues to develop the school community in our beautiful purpose-built building.

The teaching posts are permanent full time roles to start in September 2025. The salary is depending on experience MPS-UPS + SEN allowance

Main purpose of the job:

As a Teacher you will be expected to match the characteristics described in the Professional Standards for Teachers and required to fulfil the professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers.

You will:

Be responsible for making an impact on the education progress of students and improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students in the school.
Provide exceptional education and support for students with Significant Learning Difficulties (SLD) and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) from the age of 11- 19 years.
Need to be qualified to teach and work in the UK with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective relationships. Experience of working with children and/or young people with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.

Please note our new school in Miles Platting is due to open in October 2025, prior to this we will be working across our sites at the Grange School in Levenshulme and Camberwell Park in Moston, successful applicants will be expected to travel during this time.

Key responsibilities will include:

To ensure that students experience an educational programme that is personalised to their needs, developing their skills and abilities
Ensuring lessons are appropriately planned, delivered, and reviewed meeting the learning needs of all students
To foster a positive working environment in the curriculum area that supports students’ learning
Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice (or work) of others
Take an active role in the day to day management of the school
Ensure effective liaison with internal and external support agencies
Make an active contribution to the school’s ongoing self-evaluation process
