We currently have an exciting opportunity for Caretaker to join our fantastic team at Pear Tree High School

This is a Grade 3, permanent post working 35 hours per week, all year round. The starting salary is £24,404.

Main purpose of the job:

  • To provide maintenance and security services on school sites and premises under the instruction/guidance of appropriate senior staff
  • To be a responsible Key holder and ensure security of the premises, grounds and its contents including monitoring CCTV or surveillance equipment where appropriate
  • To undertake and maintain the cleanliness and physical appearance/environment of the designated site – inside and out, including maintenance of specialist facilities and equipment following appropriate training, where applicable
  • To manage designated site staff and ensure that cleaning is carried out by contractors in accordance with specification
  • To act as a first aider for the school

About the Candidate

We are looking for a dependable and practical individual to join our team as a Caretaker, with the ability to perform a range of duties including cleaning, manual handling, security patrols, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures, and either possess or be willing to develop knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe moving and handling practices.

You should be capable of following Health & Safety procedures at all times, using relevant equipment effectively, and undertaking all physical aspects of the role

A good command of spoken English is essential to enable the effective performance of duties, including the ability to speak with confidence and accuracy, as well as to listen and respond appropriately depending on the audience.

This is a vital position that helps ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for all.

Pear Tree High School is a brand new specialist support school which sits in the heart of Cheadle Hulme. The school aim is to work in partnership with parents and carers, the multi-academy trust, the local authority, and other agencies to provide exceptional education for all.
