About The Role

 

Working Hours:  35 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 8.00pm, with occasional requests to work outside normal working hours)

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Police Vetting– You will be required to undertake a Greater Manchester Police vetting process. 
 
 This role is for an Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officer working on the North Team, based at North Manchester Police Station, Central Park, Northampton Road, M40 5BQ.
 

We are looking for an individual who is comfortable engaging with people face to face on the street, as well as visiting residents and businesses.  You will work closely with our key partners, such as Greater Manchester Police, often doing street-based activity to help engage with, support and enforce against anyone involved in ASB.  Our approach involves prevention, early intervention and enforcement including taking cases to court. We provide a trauma-informed approach, with our focus on identifying support for those who need it, with the aim of helping to prevent further ASB.

 

We require someone with the confidence and resilience to enforce legislation which can include issuing verbal and written warnings, taking court action, and instructing solicitors. You must be able to confidently explain your enforcement decisions and deal with any challenges politely and professionally. 

 

North Manchester is a unique, busy location in the city, containing hundreds of businesses, thousands of residents and visitors. 

 

We are a friendly, supportive office-based team who work in GMP's North Divisional Headquarters, at Central Park.  You will work Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am and 8pm with the very occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends. 

 

 

 

 

About the Candidate

We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus. Your skills enable you to effectively communicate with other professionals, victims, witnesses and ASB perpetrators. You can demonstrate active listening, empathy, assertiveness and resilience, with the ability to lead on responding to community safety issues in your area.
 
Candidates will need to pass Police Vetting, which requires candidates to have continuous UK residency for three years.
