  • Qualifications - NVQ or ILM Level 5 or equivalent or three years relevant experience
  • Medical Clearance - Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)  
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. Full Employment history

The successful candidate will lead and manage the Supported Accommodation service within a designated area with responsibility for the provision of a high quality, flexible and responsive service that meets the needs and aspirations of all stakeholders. 

They will ensure the working environment and provided accommodation meets the needs of customers and is compliant with all relevant standards with responsibility for reviewing and resolving Health and Safety matters in line with current legislation.  

The role holder is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the service working in partnership with stakeholders to achieve customer outcomes and high standards of care.

They will also manage, motivate and develop team members through leadership and example, including identification and agreement of training and development needs. 

About the Candidate

You will deliver high quality support for service users, while taking responsibility for a team of Support Coordinators in managing existing and future risks through assessment, and creating plans which ensure the individual needs of service users are appropriately considered. 
You will manage an area of service to a high standard and work to ensure that information is shared with Care Quality Commission who will regulate and assess the level of service.
 
You will assist service users to engage with support services provided by both statutory and voluntary agencies, ensuring that the client is appropriately supported and therefore able to contribute actively in the community. 
 
You will provide advice and expertise to partner agencies and stakeholders to promote the service and represent the rights and needs of the vulnerable residents of Manchester. 
 
You will also have the skills to:
 
  • Work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals, maximise wider community assets and individuals, their family, friends and advocates to provide person centred support. 
  • Assist the Registered Manager to maintain the Unit and the overall environment ensuring it is furnished, equipped and cleaned to the required standard, with responsibility for assessing, reviewing and resolving Health and Safety issues. 
  • Continuous management and development of staff line managed through regular supervisions and All About You sessions. 
  • Create and maintain all person centred plans, risk management, health action plans, pen pictures etc for individual citizens.  
  • Lead in the quality assurance and review of individual citizen’s files ensuring they meet the standards set by CQC and the Services Quality Assurance Framework.  
  • Be responsible for the ordering, administering, recording and stock control of medication in line with policies and procedure. 
  • Ensure that financial regulations are adhered to when dealing with citizens finances. 
  • Lead in providing a person centred service that offers independence and a fuller community life, developing and maintaining the delivery of community based activities that promote their independence and wellbeing, while ensuring quality and cost effective services. 
  • Ensure the provision of a stimulating environment for all citizens and encourage their participation in the running of the Unit. 
  • Support citizens in improving their quality of life and promote health, independence, well being and choice whilst creating a safe and caring environment. 
You will be the lead contact for the area of Disability Supported Accommodation Service you are based with the Care Quality Commission and your appointment will be registered with them for their reference and reporting
