Working Hours: Various - Monday to Friday with occasional evening or weekend work, depending on the demands of the employer/employee.

We have multiple opportunities for Apprenticeship Assessor and Trainers across a range of occupational areas. You will play a crucial role in planning, delivering, and assessing apprenticeship standards.

About the Candidate

Key responsibilities include:     

Leading on apprenticeship standard

Developing and delivering high-quality training and assessment

Providing mentorship and guidance to apprentices

Collaborating with employers to ensure apprentices succeed

Maintaining accurate learner records and assessment documentation


To be successful in this role, you will possess:

A deep understanding of relevant apprenticeship standards

Proven experience in teaching or training within your industry

Strong assessment and feedback skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

As an Apprenticeship Tutor/Assessor you should:

Hold a teaching/training qualification (essential)

Hold a degree and/or a Vocational related qualification in the subject area (essential)

Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English and maths or equivalent (essential)

Have experience of apprenticeships (essential)

Hold Assessors qualifications (desirable) or willingness to achieve within 6 months

Prior knowledge and experience of apprenticeships, a teaching qualification and subject competency is required.


You should be able to demonstrate:

Knowledge of the Apprenticeship process, including mentoring and working with employers 

Knowledge of e-portfolios and End Point assessments

Professional and academic competence/qualifications to teach on the qualifications.

Experience of adopting a range of teaching and learning strategies

Use of e-learning platforms such as Equal, google classroom and others or the willingness to learn 


Key Accountabilities:

To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard

To assess accurately learners work, both formative and summative, against appropriate apprenticeship standards to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.

To support learners to meet the apprenticeship standards through portfolio evidence and assessing in the workplace, including maintaining candidate records, performing work-based observations and providing supportive feedback. 

To support learners and employers in meetings to ensure timely completion or work and high standards are met at all times

To conduct skill interviews with learner and employers to identify gaps

To teach online lessons (where appropriate) as well as teaching in our centres across the city as needed, this may involve the occasional evening class

To take course leadership responsibilities

To take part in team meetings and working groups

To comply with the services quality assurance procedures

To comply with the services policies and procedures

To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to-date in the subject area.
