We currently have an exciting opportunity for Catering Assistant to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)
This is a Grade 2, permanent, part time post working 16 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days. The starting salary is £9,750 and the full time equivalent is £24,796.
We’re looking for:
- We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- You should be comfortable working around children and able to work well as part of a team. A flexible approach is essential, as the role will involve a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and assisting with stock and deliveries.
- You will supervise and support student(s) in the dining areas and elsewhere as required to provide high quality support over lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being and assist with feeding and other personal care needs, as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with general kitchen duties, including food prep and washing up
- Ensure meals are served efficiently and on time
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for pupils during meal times
- Follow food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times
- Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the catering supervisor or cook
