Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership is seeking a Business Support Officer for its community equipment service.

Manchester Equipment and Adaptation Partnership (MEAP) is a city-wide service, providing a co-ordinated, comprehensive service to children and adults, to maximise independence, choice, safety and quality of life.

The service works in collaboration with Health and other key stakeholders to develop effective partnerships, linkages and greater coordinated working with other services, key agencies and organisations to ensure that teams contribute to the development and delivery of the city’s priorities.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key part in the running of a busy, high performing team.

The role provides a unique opportunity to work over multiple sectors, developing relationships and influencing processes.

This is a rewarding role and an opportunity for someone to make a real difference to Manchester residents through the effective delivery of a service that helps our citizens come home from hospital and avoid admissions to hospital.

About the Role:

Making and receiving phone calls
Arranging deliveries and collection of equipment supplied by MEAP
Liaising with internal and external agencies via email and over the phone
Other administrative tasks as required

Manchester Equipment & Adaptations Partnership (MEAP) is seeking to recruit 1 x Business Support Officer to cover maternity until February 2027.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective operation of the service . MEAP is extremely busy and deals with the assessment of applicants for the provision of equipment and both minor and major adaptations, moving and handling risk assessments and the assessment for and provision of Blue Badges (parking concessions for disabled and blind people)

The provision of appropriate equipment and adaptations to disabled and older people can enhance independence, prevent falls, hospital admissions and reduce reliance on care, maximising customer independence to enable the customer to achieve maximum health and well-being. The aim is to offer a comprehensive, coordinated and streamlined service to our customers. 

Essential requirements for the role:   

For this post we are seeking individuals who have:

Interpersonal Skills:- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding.

Planning and Organising : Provides work on time and to required standard and is capable of prioritising own workload in order to meet deadlines.

Problem Solving and Decision Making: Ability to interpret rules and guidelines and know when something needs to be referred to supervisor.

ICT Skills: Ability to use multiple applications, systems and associated software packages.

Literacy and Numeracy: Good literacy and numeracy skills to undertake calculations and produce letters and other documentation.

Administrative: Ability to use and accurately maintain effective administration systems in a rapidly changing environment.

Analytical: Ability to engage with stakeholders to identify information needs and to know how to go about obtaining the relevant information. Also able to gather and analyse information, opportunities and problems.
