Qualification - Holds a qualification (e.g. BSc BEng MSc MEng) in a relevant management discipline or has equivalent demonstrable experience.
 

The Capital Programme Division reports to the Director of Growth & Development and is responsible for developing and delivering Major and Minor Capital Programmes across the City. The current value of the programme is £200m per annum. It will design and deliver major projects with a total value in the region of £110 million per annum and minor projects with a total value in the region £16-£20million per annum.

The Minor Works Team is responsible for delivering multiple construction projects valued up to £3m, such as the refurbishment of schools, coordinating multiple projects across the estate and managing Fire Risk Assessment actions.

The role holder will fulfil a delivery position within the service area and will be expected to lead, manage, and successfully deliver significant or complex projects, taking responsibility for end-to-end project delivery, whilst ensuring compliance with approved project management methodology and governance policy.

In addition to leading projects all members of the team are expected to contribute to the collaborative development of project management tools and standard documents for use by the team.

About the Candidate

We require a suitably experienced project leader to deliver and manage construction related projects across a diverse and varied portfolio.

The successful candidate will be qualified to BSc/MSc level or an equivalent qualification and experience. You must be passionate about project delivery, competent in analysing data, proficient in project / programme reporting, possess a good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, CDM Regulations and current Building Contracts (including JCT, PSPC and NEC3/4 TSC and ECC). Professionally, you will have experience of delivering, managing, administering and reporting on construction contracts from commencement to completion, to quality, time and within budget.
