About the Role

Manchester City Council's ICT & Digital service plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of services to residents, communities, elected members and Council staff across one of the UK's largest local authorities. From critical business applications and cloud platforms to end-user technologies and digital transformation initiatives, ICT underpins everything we do.

As our Service Analyst for Change and Knowledge Management, you will help ensure that changes to live ICT services are managed safely and effectively while driving a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of ICT Operations, helping to protect service stability, minimise disruption and improve the experience of thousands of users across the Council.

If you are passionate about service excellence, governance, collaboration and continual improvement, and want to contribute to Manchester's ambitious digital future, we would love to hear from you.

ICT Operations is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and support of the Council's digital and technology services, supporting approximately 8,000 users, over 200 business applications and a substantial estate of cloud, infrastructure and end-user technologies.

If you're successful, you'll join a team of dedicated ICT professionals responsible for ensuring that changes to live services are assessed, authorised, communicated and implemented in a controlled manner. You will own and coordinate the end-to-end change management process, facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, engage with technical and business stakeholders, and maintain robust governance to reduce operational risk and protect critical services.

Alongside change management, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the Council's knowledge management capability. You will help ensure that service knowledge, procedures and guidance are current, accessible and effective, enabling colleagues and support teams to resolve issues more quickly, promote self-service and improve service quality.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of IT Service Management practices, strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for service improvement to make a visible impact across a complex and diverse organisation.

Why Manchester?
Manchester is one of the most vibrant and ambitious cities in the UK. Our ICT & Digital service is central to enabling the Council's priorities and supporting the services that residents rely upon every day. In return, we offer a collaborative working environment, opportunities for professional development and the chance to make a genuine difference to the people and communities of Manchester.
