As a Careers and Progression Advisor, you'll play a key role in helping adult learners take their next steps in learning, employment and career development. Through high-quality, impartial careers information, advice and guidance, you'll support learners to identify their goals, overcome barriers and make informed decisions about their future.
Working with learners from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who may face additional barriers to progression, you'll help improve access to opportunities and contribute to reducing inequalities across the city. Your work will support learners to progress into further learning, employment, volunteering and other positive destinations.
A typical week includes delivering one-to-one careers guidance appointments, facilitating group sessions and workshops, developing progression plans, making referrals to support services, and following up learners to track their progress. You'll also maintain accurate learner records and destination data to help measure impact and improve services.
The role works closely with tutors, curriculum teams, employers, partner organisations, employment support services and other stakeholders to create progression opportunities and ensure learners receive the support they need to succeed.
For queries about the role, please contact the hiring manager, Emma Langlois, at [email protected] to arrange a convenient time to discuss the role.
