We have two Building Control teams.
Lead one of them.
From skyscrapers to stadia redevelopment and wholesale District Centre regeneration, Manchester is the growth hub of the North. Our Building Control Service is central in supporting this delivery, and when you lead one of our high calibre teams, you’ll be at the heart of it all. Our growth agenda has a national profile. Join us, and you’ll deliver key outcomes for the city —development which is essential to providing new homes and jobs that are safe, inclusive, responds to climate change and is of the highest quality.
We’ll look to you to support the Building Control Manager in the strategic development and performance of the section, and in implementing initiatives both within the service and at corporate level. In particular, you’ll focus on the financial and operational performance of the Building Control team.
Operating at regional and national level, you’ll engage in joint initiatives to improve standards in relation to buildings, building work and public safety, and to develop the partnerships we need to maintain the high standards of service delivery demanded by our Charter Mark status.
In return, you’ll have every opportunity to develop your career thanks to our national agenda, and can look forward to rewards - please view here: Why work for us - Manchester City Council (eploy.net)
Why Manchester…
Manchester is often ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live within international media circles, with ‘nightlife’, ‘creativity’, ‘community spirit’, ‘friendliness’ and ‘getting to know your neighbours’ top of the list. We are home to the UK’s largest indoor arena, its second largest international airport, major sporting venues, great public transport options, and is right in the heart of the nation’s motorway network. On our doorstep are National Parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty and stunning coastlines. Within the City, our 555,000+ residents live in every kind of housing from modern residential skyscrapers, traditional Victorian terraced neighbourhoods, to leafy suburban districts.
The Building Control Service in Manchester has a key role to play in the evolution of our City, making sure developments are high-quality, safe, inclusive, and sustainable. If you share Manchester’s clear ambitions in delivering high quality developments, and safe and secure environments in the city, we want to hear from you.
If you’re successful, you’ll join a team of Building Control professionals pushing forward a high standard of healthy, safe, sustainable, and accessible buildings within the City.
We have an exciting position for a suitably qualified and experienced Building Control professional. If you consider yourself suited to the role of a Specialist Building Control Inspector (please see the attached Role Profile for further information regarding the role), we’d love to hear from you.
