We are currently recruiting for a 6-month time limited contract Project Officer role within ICT for the Resident and Business Digital Experience Programme. 

The RBDxP Programme: 
  • The Resident and Business Digital Experience Programme (RBDxP) is a dynamic and ambitious programme which will transform the way the Council interacts with residents, businesses, and partners.
  •  The overall objective is to provide Manchester’s residents, businesses and partners with an easy to use, fully integrated set of digital public services that will improve customer journeys and interactions, using the best available technology, and make digital the preferred method of choice.  
  • It will ensure residents and businesses who want to interact digitally can do so easily by utilising digital technologies, best practice methodologies, user engagement, data, and by building a digital, customer-focused culture.   
The RBDxP programme objectives: 
  1. Make Manchester City Council a digital leader of public services, reducing internal demand costs and increasing customer satisfaction.  
  2. Connecting our organisation together, allowing effective collaboration with partners. 
  3. Use inclusive design and understanding of the digitally diverse needs of our residents, to ensure fair and equitable access to all our services. 
  4. Ensure systems and technology provide the best customer experience and manages demand. 
The Resident and Business Digital Experience Programme (RBDxP) falls within the Engagement and Delivery unit within ICT. It will be closely aligned with the ‘Digitally Integrated Council’ workstream which falls within the Council’s ‘Future Shape’ initiative. 

In April 2024 the RBDxP team implemented a new CRM, integration layer and webforms package as part of Phase 1 of the Programme.  As we move into Phase 2 work will be carried out to upgrade and improve the Council’s Content Management System. 

ICT Department: 

The RBDxP Team come under the Council’s ICT department, which has 4 function units and is made up of 164 staff.  The 4 functional units are:
 
PMO & Governance.
Engagement and Delivery.
Enterprise Architecture. 
Service Operations.  
 
The department’s strategy has the customer at its heart, with a vision: always, high value, business aligned technology and applications. Delivering high quality agile customer centric service. Always safe, secure and compliant.  

The overall aim of the ICT Service is to manage the network, computers and systems that support internal and external Council services. ICT also provide strategic direction for technology development and ICT Project Management.  

The ICT Service supports over 7000 users of end user devices across the Manchester City Council network and remotely.

About the Candidate

We are currently recruiting for a 6-month fixed term contract Project Officer role within ICT on the Resident and Business Digital Experience Programme.

The RBDxP team are recruiting for a Project Officer for 6 months to coordinate the review of all content and pages on the current website.   

The ideal candidate will be able to support this work and be able to work independently to gather the information required from a large number of stakeholders.  The candidate will need good organisational and communication skills to monitor and coordinate progress with colleagues and managers. 

The ideal candidates will be self-starters who will be able to work under minimal supervision to follow processes and procedures put in places by the wider project as liaison with onsite colleagues and suppliers is critical.
