The role of the Accommodation Support Worker will offer clients 24/7 support onsite in order to help form a successful move on plan out of temporary accommodation addressing any barriers which may be restricting families from moving on. This may be working closely with Children's Services to ensure the a safety plan of the children is adhered to, working with the families around finance and budgeting to prepare them from moving out of temporary accommodation, looking at private rented properties, helping with benefit support I.E Housing benefit, Council tax, UC etc.

The ASW will complete regular support review plans to ensure that the family's are engaging with the inhouse support as well as completing any relevant paperwork I.E updating Risk & Needs assessments, benefit forms etc.

The ASW will ensure that they are completing relevant daily task's such as updating daily handover notes, updating daily case notes, updating daily working agreement plans etc.

The ASW will work to a high standard to be able to provide safe, in house support for our clients as and when required.

About the Candidate

The candidate will have good skill sets with working with clients who have complex support needs and are able to identify support needs and Safeguarding issues to report and follow up.

The candidate will be able to lone work as well as work in a team. The candidate will be able to identify barriers in which may be preventing a client from moving on from temporary accommodation and would be able to address these barriers,

The candidate would be able to work under management as well as use their own initiative whilst running shifts and maintaining the building when management is not present on site.

The candidate would be able to work well with complex clients, ensuring that they are professional and deal with the confrontations situations well and to be able to deescalate any confrontational situations from arising.
