We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic team at Grange School.

This is a Grade 7, permanent, full-time post working 35 hours per week Term Time only plus 5 days. The starting salary is £31,071 per annum and the full time equivalent is £36,124.

We’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Occupational Therapist to join our special school which provides places for 3–19-year-old students in an environment where pupils with a diagnosis of autism and learning difficulties can access a specialised and holistic education.

 Experience of working with children/young people with SEN, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum is essential.

About the Candidate

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree or a post-graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and RCOT Experience of working with young people with a range of needs is required
  • Full UK driving licence

You will provide a paediatric occupational therapy service for young people with physical impairment, complex health needs and associated learning difficulties who attend the school and other schools within the trust.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the functional, psychological, educational and social needs of pupils
  • Providing effective Occupational Therapy intervention to maximise a pupil’s ability to access the curriculum.
  • Developing and update comprehensive records of students with Occupational Therapy needs across school and service
  • Providing professional advice to school staff, parents and carers
  • To contribute to the training and development of school colleagues
  • Monitoring the implementation of programmes adapting and updating where appropriate
