The main duties of this role will be to provide a Reception and Switchboard Service at the Harpurhey District Office.   There are several hundred Manchester City Council and NHS staff based at this office and you will be required to deal with various queries efficiently and courteously with tact and diplomacy.  You will need personal resilience and initiative to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate within agreed timescales and procedures. 

This role will also include general administrative tasks to support Adult Social Care Services - you will deal with enquiries both written and verbal, from a wide range of internal and external clients, completing all documentation and correspondence accurately and to a high standard.  Attention to detail is key and you must be able to prioritise your work, manage your time and be able to adhere to deadlines and follow procedures.
 
You will be required to enter and retrieve confidential information into our internal ICT systems. Excellent keyboard skills and a knowledge of various IT systems are essential.

About the Candidate

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and keen to learn. You will need excellent customer service skills and will need to be confident speaking to citizens both in person and on the telephone. 
 
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent keyboard skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages. You will also need to be a team player and will need to be able to prioritise your own workload and work to deadlines.  You must be able to use your own initiative.
