The Social Care Payments Team has a key role in delivering a high quality support service to social care providers.

We're looking for a Payment Data Officer to join our Social Care Payments Team, supporting Adult and Children's Services by ensuring accurate and timely payments to care providers and carers.

What you'll do
  • Process high-volume payment transactions accurately and within strict deadlines.
  • Maintain and analyse data using a range of systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Investigate and resolve payment and data-related queries.
  • Build positive relationships with providers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
As a Payment Data Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that some of Manchester's most vulnerable children, young people, adults, and carers receive the support they depend on. Every payment processed accurately and on time helps care providers and carers continue delivering essential services to those who need them most.

This is more than a payment processing role. It is an opportunity to contribute to a service that underpins the delivery of critical social care support across Manchester, ensuring that providers and carers are paid correctly and on time so they can continue making a positive difference in people's lives.

About the Candidate

Essential requirements for the role:  
  • Accounts Payable, finance, administration, or payment processing experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using databases, spreadsheets, and multiple IT systems.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable requirements that would be useful in this role:   
  • Experience in social care finance or payment services.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
