As Communications Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the charity's communications strategy while supporting the successful delivery of selected fundraising programmes.

Working closely with the Head of Charity, Charity Trustees, and agency support you will create compelling content, grow our digital presence, engage supporters, and help tell the stories that demonstrate the life-changing impact of our work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of communications activities that grow audiences, increase engagement and foster stewardship of the charities partners and supporters. 
  • Create engaging and accessible content across digital and social media channels.
  • Manage and develop the charity's website and digital platforms.
  • Plan and deliver social media campaigns that attract and engage new and existing audiences.
  • Produce regular e-newsletters and develop effective supporter communications.
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support digital marketing activity including SEO, online advertising and partnership promotions.
  • Develop media opportunities, write press releases and build positive relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Provide project management support on agreed fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to maximise impact and reach.

You will be an enthusiastic communications professional with excellent storytelling skills and a passion for supporting young people and communities.

  • Experience creating engaging content across a range of digital channels.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and developing audience engagement.
  • Website content management experience.
  • Knowledge of email marketing and digital communications.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and use insights to improve results.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • A creative mindset and willingness to try new approaches.
