Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use. 
 

The Building Safety Officer sits within the Building Safety Team in Manchester City Council’s Housing Services and offers an exciting opportunity to help deliver a resident focused building and fire safety service. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and other fire safety legislation, while supporting residents to live safely in their homes.

The Building Safety Officer’s will:

· Develop and promote resident engagement initiatives, ensuring residents are actively involved in building safety decisions.

· Support compliance with the Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025 by completing Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments and Emergency Evacuation Statements with residents.

· Carry out essential building and fire safety inspections in high-rise residential buildings, including inspections of communal fire doors, flat entrance doors and firefighting equipment.

· Contribute to the continuous improvement of building safety practices and resident engagement across the service.
