We currently have an exciting opportunity for Curriculum Leader of Maths to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)

This is a permanent full time position on Teaching terms MPS-UPS plus TLR 1.3 allowance of £14,864, starting January 2027.

Main purpose of the job:

This is a middle management post. In addition to those professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers in the school, the post holder’s key responsibilities will be to provide professional leadership and management and develop excellence in pedagogy to ensure accelerated progress for all students in your subject area.

Key responsibilities will include:

• To lead, manage and develop the Maths curriculum across the Academy and develop excellence in teaching to accelerate progress for all students.
• To foster a shared vision in the curriculum team which reflects the whole school vision and to enthuse, inspire and motivate all team members.
• To monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and other strategies and implementing strategies to improve teaching where necessary.
• To ensure that the aims and objectives of the Department are the subject of regular review and consultation.
• To manage the finance and resources ensuring effective curricular resource management & deployment to maximise student achievement and attainment.
• To collaborate with other curriculum areas to raise attainment through developing overlapping themes and cross curricular learning opportunities.
• To promote the provision of a range of enrichment activities and extracurricular activities across the curriculum area.
