The Manchester Digital Strategy: Doing Digital Together, sets the vision for Manchester to be a world class digital city. This includes making sure that we have digitally skilled residents, a future-proofed infrastructure, a thriving digital economy, and a digitally enabled transition to a sustainable and resilient city.

When we talk about digital, we aren’t just talking about technology. Digital supports people to access key services such as health and finance, as well opportunities around learning and employment. Digital opens the door to new businesses and our inclusive future in Manchester relies on it in many different ways!

From the work we have undertaken to understand the needs of the sector, the people and organisations who call the city home and the substantial range of data and information available, we arrived at four themes for the new strategy, these are - Remarkable People, Extraordinary Opportunities; Connecting Places, Enhancing Lives; Pioneering the Future, Prosperity for All and Rising to Challenges, Future-proofing our city.

To make the strategy come to life, together with people and organisations across the digital ecosystem, Manchester City Council have a small Digital Strategy Team, who drive and coordinate delivery of a Delivery Plan. The existing team are already making great progress in coordinating the delivery of the 2024 Delivery Plan and are now looking to fill the post for a Senior Digital Strategy Officer to help them to continue to do so.
