About The Role

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Parking Services work with other services in the council to help to encourage and maintain the free flow of traffic across the city as well as managing the usage of the city councils parking provision.  As  such the team receives a high volume of contact which need to be reviewed and responded to. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and oversee the service effectively in ensuring the service meets its statutory obligations.

The main duties of the Operations Manager will be the day to day operational running of the service, including all aspects of people management, ensuring all staff are managing their caseloads effectively. You will also be responsible for managing a number of contracts ensuring the council is getting value for money and social value commitments are being delivered.

About the Candidate

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with excellent proven people management experience, organisational, case management and efficiency skills, as well as experience of managing and embracing change. The role holder will work closely with other services in the council and external partners, to ensure value for money, performance and financial efficiencies.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, including report writing. They will be able to use interpersonal skills to provide leadership and direction to the team and to secure and direct resources.  They will also have excellent IT skills and be able to use MS Office with the case management system. 

The role holder will need to be forward thinking, be passionate about providing an excellent service to residents and visitors to Manchester and be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
